Driver not found for either a PNY Tech. 2gb SD card or an AnyCard SD card.
Windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit processor. Dell Inspiron 1501 Laptop. What can I do to be able to load songs and videos to these cards? Is there anything I should do or download? |

It seems lately i have had some problems with the larger SD cards. I bought some 2 Gig cards and found that when i pull them out of my camera and try using them in SC adapters for USB my XP and Vista computers won't read them. If i leave them in the camera and use a USB camera cable the computers see's the card just fine. I don't know whats up with that. I also used a 2 giger out of a camera as a data transfer drive in an adapter and all of a sudden the camera would not see the card anymore when inserted in the camera. So i have now seperated my SD cards to where some are strictly for camera use and others are for data drives in adapters. Funny tho is all the 1 gig SD cards don't seem to have this problem. I really think its is a software thing and it needs to catch up with the hardware.
Enought of the euology here. You know SD takes a certain kind of FORMATTING. It seems once a card is formatted using Windows the card really can't be used for cameras and other devices as easy as when they were FORMATTED with factory SD formatting. I have found that the panasonic SD formatting software works on all SD cards that i have tried doing this on. This has included Kodak , Sandisk, and some other named cards. It has worked for me. The caveat is to NOT use quick formatting on the cards as you need to specify the size of the cards when formatting. One card that was a 1 giger formatted as 512 MB and i now cannot get it to reformat as 1 gig. If you want to try this here it is. http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/sd/d..._formatter.html SRX660 |

Hmmmm... I'm using a 4GB SD card in my Vista as a ReadyBoost drive. But I seem to remember a Vista hotfix for larger SD cards. I'll poke around and repost when I find it.

I did the Panasonic fix as prescribed above and reinserted, no driver found, used the link above, the 32-bit suggestion didn't work. Any suggestions now? :S |

Give KB 936825 a shot. This is a Vista SD Rollup package - the one I was talking about. See if that will fix it.

I'm getting the same error message that this update doesn't apply to my system.
And now I have a different GPS system and not all of the drivers are found for it, either. I get exactly to where I started again and end up failing again. Anything else? |

Make sure your Media Card Reader Driver is up to date.
Also, did your computer come with Windows Vista? |

Make sure your Media Card Reader Driver is up to date. Also, did your computer come with Windows Vista? Media Card Reader Driver is up-to-date; problem still exists. Also, just tried plugging in a new SD Card reader... no luck getting the driver found to that, either... |

I think you need to find out if this is a USB problem. Can you test with a USB External hard drive to see if it will read it? It may be that you need updated drivers for the motherboard chipset.
A similar USB update for gateway is here. If you do not have a gateway, Please do not use them, they are for EXAMPLE only. http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers...p;uid=169329754 What motherboard do you have so we can look to see if there are updated drivers. This also may be a problem that Vista has assigned a drive letter for a similar device , so it won't assign a later drive letter for it, but at the same time it won't read the card because it sees something different.
