Please help ! - Whilst surfing the web last night, I may have picked-up malware.
I had a window pop-up which would not be closed/moved/minimized with warnings such as 'Spyware Alert ! with vulnerabilities found' and buttons asking me to either 'Activate Antivirus System Pro' or 'Stay unprotected' Also I had pop ups near the system tray with the label 'Antivirus System Pro Alert' showing infiltration alerts asking me to block these attacks. (there was also a new icon in the system tray called Antivirus System Pro) I managed to kill a process in task manager called sysguard.exe - which i suspected to be a strange process. (this appears to have helped) Quickly I ran Spybot S&D which found the following problems - Mircosoft.WindowsSecurityCenter_disabled - Fraud.Sysguard - WinSpywareProtect (running S&D appears also to have helped) I have managed to run a couple of Norton antivirus scans - It appears to OK but S&D is still reporting Mircosoft.WindowsSecurityCenter_disabled from time to time. So I am asking if someone help with technical skill can read my HiJackThis report to see there is anything that might be 'suspect' Thanks in advance. Hello fenzodahl512, Thanks for your quick reply.
Ok - I have followed you instructions to run various programs to supply you with the resulting logs. The Comedian.exe All steps completed successfully including ERUNT registery backup, except for step 4 Creating a new system restore point which completed but displayed a messagebox saying it 'Could not create a new restore point !!' I guess that I may have turned off restore points. Norman malware Cleaner Ran the scan in safe mode, creating log file called NFix_2009-06-13_00-19-50.log on the desktop. We will begin with ComboFix.exe. Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running the tool:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix * Ensure you have disabled all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply for further review. |

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
Extra Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly. Please run a free online scan with the ESET Online Scanner Note: You will need to use Internet Explorer for this scan
How's the computer now? |
