I have a Sony Vaio laptop that just lost it's power supply. I have a new Vaio that I would like to transfer the old sony's hard drive info to. Can this be done since my old laptop will not power up?
Thanks for any help.

Brian

You can but don't expect it to boot without a repair.
You'd do better putting it in an external caddy that you then plug into a USB port to get your data off it.

Oh yeah, some Sony Vaio laptops are a pain in the behind to get the hard drive out of. Last one I saw, had to take the entire back off, bend the cover half over and then struggle to unscrew the thing. Good luck smile.gif
