mr don77. i have the same problem posted by tayberce on this topic -->http://www.geekstogo...howtopic=113865
but we have different "hijack this" results so i was reluctant on following the exact solutions that you so kindly provided for him. i cannot figure out where and when i got the virus but when i run yahoo anti spy the trojan and spysheriff is always there. my avast anti virus detects the virus and deletes them but they still show on yahoo anti spy and the next virus scan. my homepage was also changed to C://secure32.html but there is no AZE searhbar like in tayberce.
i have included my "hijack this" results, and i am at lost on what to do next.

pls help, thank you.

Hi and Welcome. :whistling:

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
This program is for XP and Windows 2000 onlyDouble-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
If you use Firefox browserClick Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
If you use Opera browserClick Opera at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
For Technical Support, double-click the e-mail address located at the bottom of each menu.

Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri) to your Desktop.

You should print out these instructions, or copy them to a NotePad file for reading while in Safe Mode, because you will not be able to connect to the Internet to read from this site.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
  • Choose your usual account.
Once in Safe Mode, double-click on SmitfraudFix.exe
Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press "Enter" to delete infected files.

You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?"; answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter" in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.

The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found); answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter".

The tool may need to restart your computer to finish the cleaning process; if it doesn't, please restart it into Normal Windows.
A text file will appear onscreen, with results from the cleaning process; please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.
The report can also be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt

Please post the smitfruadfix log and a new HJT log please.

1. Download ComboFix.exe using either of these links:

BleepingComputer

Techsupportforum.com

2. Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts to allow the tool to run.

3. When it has finished, it will produce a log for you. Post that log & a fresh HJT log in your next reply

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall

Hello foregone

Tigger93 is away for a few days so I am standing in as caretaker.

You have quite a mixture of malware and Trojans including what appears to be a rootkit infection. Let’s see what we can do.

Please download: RustBfix ...and save it to your desktop.

Double click on rustbfix.exe to run the tool. If a Rustock.b-infection is found, you will shortly be asked to reboot the computer. The reboot will probably take quite a while, and perhaps 2 reboots will be needed. But this will happen automatically. After the reboot 2 logfiles will open (%root%\avenger.txt & %root%\rustbfix\pelog.txt). Post the content of those logs.

Please download the following programmes, we will run them later. Please save them to a place that you will remember, I suggest the Desktop:

Killbox by Option^Explicit
AVG AntiSpyware

Please install, and update AVG Anti Spyware
  • Load AVGas and then click the Update tab at the top. Under Manual Update click Start update.
  • After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
  • Please select the "Scanner" icon at the top of the screen, then select the "Settings" tab.
  • Once in the Settings screen click on "Recommended actions" and then select "Quarantine".
  • Under "Reports"
  • Select "Automatically generate report after every scan"
  • Deselect "Only if threats were found"
  • Close AVGas. Do not run it yet.
Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.
For additional help in booting into Safe Mode, see the following site:

Safe Mode

  • In Safe Mode, load AVGas and click on the Scanner tab at the top and then click on Complete System Scan. This scan can take quite a while to run, so be patient.
  • AVGas will list any infections found on the left hand side. When the scan has finished, it will automatically set the recommended action. Click the Apply all actions button. AVGas will display "All actions have been applied" on the right hand side.
  • Click on "Save Report", then "Save Report As". This will create a text file. Make sure you know where to find this file again (I suggest the Desktop).
  • Please ensure you post that log in your reply.
Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked. Please now reboot into normal mode.

Please install Killbox by Option^Explicit.
  • Please double-click Killbox.exe to run it.
  • Select Delete on Reboot
  • then Click on the All Files button.
  • Please copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

C:\WINDOWS\system32\dlh9jkd1q5.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\dlh9jkd1q8.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchw.exe
  • Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose Paste from Clipboard.
  • Click the red-and-white Delete File button. Click Yes at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click OK at any PendingFileRenameOperations prompt (and please let me know if you receive this message!).
If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run Killbox, click here to download and run missingfilesetup.exe. Then try Killbox again.

Post back a fresh HijackThis log (from normal mode) and I will take another look. (3 logs in total please).

sir thank you for your help and time.
i already had the avg but it was the 7.5 - 30 day trial version so i think the options were a little different and i failed to save a scan result in note pad. but the scan results did find viruses and quarantined and deleted all of them. my pc is showing great signs of recovery hehe thnx to geekstogo. everything seems to be nrmal but im not sure whether there are still attacks because unlike avast, avg anti virus doesn't say anything if there is an attack, but maybe there isn't anymore hehe. but the internet icon is still showing signs of intermittent activity even if im not using the connection. but it isn't like before when the internet icon is lighting continuously despite zero activity in my part.

here are the results sir, once again i thank you

Hello again

You appear to have uninstalled Avast and replaced it with AVG7. This is not what I advised and not where the link I gave will take you. Please go back to my previous post and click on the link given and download AVG anti spyware (this is not antivirus) and continue with my instructions.

It is up to you what you now do about antivirus. I like Avast and use it myself, so that is an option for you to return to Avast, or you can continue with AVG7 and pay for the product when the free trial is over, or download AVG Free from here: http://free.grisoft....anti-virus-free
