This problem started a few days ago. Whenever I try to open Internet Explorer from the desktop icon, the iexplore.exe icon, or the icon in the start menu, IE freezes while loading the homepage.

However, when I type in a webpage in a folder, I get connected to the internet no problem. Until I get a pop-up, and then just the pop-up window messes up.

Secondly,

I am getting a Windows Security Alert that says it cannot detect any Anti-Virus software on my computer, although I can see that Norton is up and running perfectly fine. When I try and click on the icon in the taskbar, I get a box with a red X saying

"Access to the specified device, path or file is denied", and it is trying to access rundll32.exe.

The thing that confuses me is that I found rundll32 in the Windos/System folder.

Any help is extremely appreciated.

Please go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE .

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.
