Ok, so at work, Net nanny doesn't work to blok sites, so as a stop gap until they set something up that is going to work, we've used the Hosts file to get round and block some sites. However, some of our young people who come in are still able to access websites that they shouldn't be, despite being in the hosts file and listed against 127.0.0.1 - I know Hosts files aren't usually designed for this but at th moment it is a stop gap. Any reason they are able to have a work around?

I know with net nanny they can access using a proxy server and that can bypass.

At our work, we set up Six Computers in our HR Department where people come in to apply for jobs on our website. The catch, however, is that we didn't want them to be able to get to any other sites. I searched high and low for a fix and finally turned up with something. The following document was copied into our SOPs, put into affect, and works great.

Basically, this will block ALL websites EXCEPT the ones you allow.
