I have a HP Pavilion dv8000 notebook with 2 GB ram and WinXP SP2.

It takes close to 10 minutes to warm boot or recover from hibernation, and the system seems exceptionally slow. There are 77 programs running immediately after a warm boot.

I have run the recommended spyware and malware removal tools, but it's still sluggish.
