Having previously dealt with spyware and malware I googled the site and found it to be a relatively new malware. I then attempted to run adaware to remove all spyware bugs that it was capable of removing however halfway through the scan it shutdown on me. I repeatedly try to run the anti spyware tool, adaware, with similar results. I even attempted rebooting and trying again. I have since downloaded HiJackThis and have saved my log and uninstall list per the FAQ "Read this before posting HiJackThis Logs" I would greatly appreciate any help in remedying this situation ASAP thanks. Oh and also I have just been made aware that "task manager has been disabled by your system administrator. I imagine a bug in the registry has disabled this and is blocking me from ctrl alt del anything. Need some help here guys.....don't think I've ever encountered a bug as bad as this one before. ***Update while I wait for a response*** I have since finally been able to run somewhat of a full Adaware scan that removed the red wallpaper and has enabled me to once again run task manager when needed, however just in case, I ran another HiJackThis Log afterwards to see what else might be sticking around, I've also found a "pt.htm" file that directs me to the spam website, I found the dir it's installed in and deleted it, however I'm guessing i should probably boot in safe mode and delete it to prevent repopulation. Again, here is my new HiJackThis log and uninstall list......we're getting close to 3 days here guys so any help would be greatly appreciated. ***and another update*** Upon trying to get onto the internet last night (8-13) both internet explorer and firefox would not load a page, as well other programs such as AIM and weatherbug were unable to connect....I tried both rebooting my system and removing and returning the power supply to my modem. Thanks for the reply essex....while waiting for some help I've come across some other problems....one of which was the outerinfo malware....i followed the instructions for outerinfo removal and have run a combo fix and run the antispyware program recommended with said removal instructions....the AVG one....as a result my new hijackthis log has changed somewhat and the options you instructed me to check are no longer available....I have re run the HiJackThis and here is my new log....sorry for the differences...hopefully it will save us some leg work...I went ahead and remo0ved the two Java applications you instructed me to remove...I have on emore listed in the program list...Java™ SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 1....should I remove that as well?
