Video Card Problem?, Problem with viewing video in Windows Media Player and Quicktime |

I am having a problem viewing video on windows media player and quicktime. The colors are not correct. It almost looks like a negative image except it's red and black not black and white. Any ideas as to what the problem might be? TIA This post has been edited by rsderrick: Aug 18 2008, 02:45 PM |

A little bit more information for everyone. While trying to edit some video in Pinnacle 12 last night, while trying to capture video from my dv camera, I noticed that the capture window had the problem with being able to view the image properly. It look like a reverse image or negative. Lots of black and small amounts of color (Color is on the edges of objects in the window). Once the video was captured and while playing it back I didn't have any problems viewing the video. It's almost like the problem resides in the video that is being streamed.

tell us ur motherboard details, video card,etc they can be found in dxdiag.exe

On the system tab of DirectX Diagnostic Tool this what I have: Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.14, Build 2600) Bios: Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS Version 1.10.2.3.0 Processor: Intel® Core 2 CPU 6700 @ 2.66GHz (2 CPUs) Memory: 1022MB Ram Page File: 1358MB used, 1101MB Available DirectX Version: Direct X 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) My video card is a NVIDIA GeForce 7900GS. Main Driver is nv4_disp.dll. Version 6.14.0011.6218. I"ll check to see if the driver needs updating. Let me know if you need anything else. |

First Try updating ur nvidia driver A new driver for Your motherboard is present. Download the driver here See if driver for ur monitor has been installed... Checking Monitor Driver
here u should see ur monitor Name and the type. If u dont then search in internet for ur monitor drivers... Do tell me if this solves ur pro |

It looks like installing the new driver solved the problem. I put in a DVD and it worked properly. Before it was messed up. Thanks for the help. I appreciate it. |
