While editing a project, the audio and video get out of sync making the editing process hard to do as I am not sure of my location while doing the editing. Any ideas what is wrong?

I have the latest updates, defraged the hard drive etc. Still having the problem.

Thanks,

Groundrod

What software are you using?
Is your camera connected to the computer and is turned "on" whilst you edit?
What computer hardware do you have?
What is the file type you are editing?
When you export it is it in sync?

Hope I can help, just need a few of these answered so I can start somewhere smile.gif .

I am using Pinnacle Studio 9 with all of the latest updates
The camcorder is not connected to the computer while editing
Not sure what you mean by hardware? Please help.
I captuer in MPEG
When I "Make Movie" everything comes out fine

It is just when editing things get out of sync and I have a hard time

Hope this gives you a starting point and thanks for the help.

looks like the file format you are using is the problem "MPEG".

I don't have Pinnacle but in premiere MPEG audio doesnt even work for me, I have also heard of many stories where people have had audio trouble with MPEG files.

Best solution is to capture and edit at DV avi level. It is better quality and works. If your using a MPEG video camera ...

Another solution is that you may be able to get a plugin for Pinnacle studio what will alow the audo and video to be in SYNC.

I get as far as this website because i dont have a key...:
http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/as/P...patibility+list

might be worth a look at "Generate a new Activation Key (Plugins, MPEG2...)" and "Knowledge Base and Email" & "User Forms".
