The answer may be obvious, but seeing as how I cannot find an explicit answer anywhere else, I thought I would ask here. How good of a video card do you need to watch TV on your computer? I'm not talking about minimum system requirements. I mean to get a decent moving picture on your full screen (desktop or laptop), would you need a dedicated video card? Or would the Intel x3100, or ATI 1150 be enough to do the job? (Let's assume the computer is at least a Celeron/Sempron with 1GB memory) Just curious.....

If you actually watching tv you need a capture or tv card.... which is usually seperate from the video card now...

I heard that the video card plays a role in interpreting the signal coming in from your TV tuner card before sending it out to your monitor. Is that true? If so, then (to reiterate) would onboard graphics be enough?

Haven't heard that before but then again tv is far less resolution than even vga so I don't think it would be a problem... ATI use to make the all-in-wonder cards and they where based on the older video chipsets so I don't think you'll have a problem.... If for whatever reason the on-board isn't enough any recent video card would be more than enough....
