When I use my vista dvd on my computer it works perfectly fine. But when I use it on my brother's HP computer, after the press any button to boot from dvd, it give me the error: the file is possibly corrupt. The file header checksum does not match the computed checksum. Anybody know what's happening? I have Vista Ultimate DVD version if that matters.

You probably don't have a DVD reader on the PC that can't read the DVD.

But you may have one on the one that does.

Go to Start>My Computer then see if you see anything that says "DVD RW", anything like that

Theres a program that will list the specs for you, I'm sure one of the geeks here have programs that will list your specs.

Then we can confirm what the problem is.

Oh, I definitely have a DVD reader. The problem is I messed up my MBR when I tried to dual boot windows xp on the vista machine. Is there any way I could fix the Vista MBR without the DVD?
