Hello wynand85 and welcome to Geeks To Go! I was wondering if you could go into the Device Manager while booted up in Vista and tell me the name of your Network Adapter(s) that is listed in there.

What motherboard do you have? (that info can be found by accessing the Device Manager using the link in my earlier post)

I apologize about that, I kept your network card on my mind for some reason. The way that I get my system info on my older pc that is still running XP is by using a free tool called AIDA32. It will give you a lot of your systems specs. The reason that I ask about the motherboard is that I was looking at this Intel site that explained how to get the correct driver for your Intel® high definition audio as well as this information:

Note If you are using Microsoft Windows XP*, you may need to first install KB888111.exe, the Microsoft* UAA High Definition Audio Package version 1.0a.

I believe this will solve the issue.

I wasn't able to find much information through Toshiba so I would like to go ahead with the Hotfix specifically for Windows XP with the Intel® high definition audio. This is the link to the the Microsoft Hotfix request for the earlier mentioned KB888111.exe (the Microsoft* UAA High Definition Audio Package version 1.0a). On that page you will be asked to put a check mark in the box next to the Hotfix that you want, in this case please select Windows XP, then below it Microsoft asks for your email address and then follow the instructions for the verification box after that.

If everything goes okay on that page you will be taken to the confirmation page, mine said this:

Hotfix Confirmation
We will send these hotfixes to the following e-mail address:

Usually, our hotfix e-mail is delivered to you within five minutes. However, sometimes unforeseen issues in e-mail delivery systems may cause delays.

We will send the e-mail from the “[email protected]” e-mail account. If you use an e-mail filter or a SPAM blocker, we recommend that you add “[email protected]” or the “microsoft.com” domain to your safe senders list. (The safe senders list is also known as a whitelist or an approved senders list.) This will help prevent our e-mail from going into your junk e-mail folder or being automatically deleted.
