Where Do I Start, Used Laptop

Member Posts: 46 OS: windows xp	My Friend gave me his old laptop. How Do i check for the Specifics? I think it has wireless, how do i find out what kind of wireless adapter i have? what kind of processor do i have? Its an HP laptop, How do i find out what is compatible and what is not? I have no CDs no manuals nothing of the sort for this laptop. And I i already believe its acting up. Wireless is acting up and i can't open up the control panel. Still, i dont think i can try to fix it if i dont even know what i have? so where to start?
