Hello all. I am currently using vista 32-bits and having a major problem. Right after i removed a deadly virus which prevented me from logging into my computer with norton internet security, I found that I can no longer display any image from pictures and videos. When i tried to display a picture with window photo gallery, the only thing shown is a transparent image. The same things goes for videos. I have tried different formats of videos with different types of video players, but all I can see is a transparent screen with the sounds from the video file. I don't know what is the caused and don't know where to look. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Btw, here's are some snapshots of my problems. The untitled image shows what happened when i tried to open a sample picture with window photo gallery. The untitled2 and 3 show the problems when I tried to open a sample video with media player classic and window media player. Hopefully someone can identify the problem.

The failure of the windows to populate is either a problem with Windows (it could have been broken by the viruses), or a resource issue (which could be due to the Windows problem).

The first place to look when this happens is in Task Manager...Processes tab. (Ctrl-Shift-Esc to open it)
Check (when the problem is occurring) for anything that's using excessive CPU or Memory.
Make sure to click on the "Show processes from all users" button at the bottom left of the window.

If nothing shows there, then click on the View menu item and select "Select columns"
Place a check mark in the boxes for I/O Reads and I/O Other.
Click OK to exit the dialog, then resize the Task Manager window so you can view all the columns.
Check the I/O Reads and I/O Other for excessive usage.
Let us know the image names of the processes that are consuming a lot.

Alright, here are the snapshots of my task manager. The untitled show the first half of my task manager and the untitled2 show the second half.

Please note that i wouldn't be around for about a week time, so please don't close this post if I don't reply.

You're having issues with your Norton, and with a program called Thunder5.exe

From my research it appears that Thunder5.exe is a dangerous file - so I'd suggest that you travel over to the Malware forum and post there: http://www.geekstogo...emoval-f37.html

Also, it's possible that this could also be caused due to problems with your Torrent programs/downloads. Please be advised that, in accordance with the forum's Terms of Use, we do not provide support for P2P programs:

We will not support or allow the discussion of any peer to peer (P2P) applications, except for their removal.

Thx for the help. I never knew thunder5 is dangerous, since most people in my country are using it. Anyway. I will uninstall them right away and use avast. Will notify you if the problem is solved.

I'm not a malware specialist. The only thing that I found was some references on the internet that this could be an infection. That's why I sent you over to the Malware forums - so the experts could figure it out.

To my disappointed, the problem was not solved after removing norton and thunder5. My recent avast boot scan had detected several viruses which cleverly concealed themselves after login and couldn't be removed. I guess the problem is due to viruses after all. Thx for ur help. I will now seek advice from malware forum.
