Why can't I play a game I installed from a disc

I bought a game called "cake mania". It also came with another game called "back to the bakery". I got them about a year ago. I have uninstalled them so I wouldn't be tempted to play them while taking college classes. Then I reinstalled them. I could play cake mania right after I reinstalled it. Now when I go back to it, it gives me an error message and will not let me play it. I can play back to the bakery after reinstalling it with no problems. Why can I play one and not the other?

This is an issue with Vista.
She had this issue after an update, and I get the same error on my machine.
I will buy the new version for her when I have a few extra $

What is the error message she is being given? Is the game not firing up at all or is it firing up and then crashing? Is UAC turned off?

I came across this doing some research: http://www.bestvistadownloads.com/software...d-yxfnjkrs.html

I'm not sure if it is the full version of the game or not but it comes from a website called Best Vista Downloads. I would give it a shot. It might be a newer version that will be more compatible with Vista.
