yes it will damage the card...and your motherboard....let alone the fact that it should be physically impossible to install a PCI or AGP card in backwards

Agree with dsnette. Sounds to me like you're trying to fit an AGP card into a PCI slot, since AGP cards have a longer "overhang" between the contact strip and the backplate.
