I just wanted to put an update about this issue, and the update is that I have found the solution, and I would like to post it here to contribute with some help to users that might have the same or similar issues.

Here is the Fix:
This is the fix for a problem that is present on the win2k3x64 OS:

What was the Problem?
-After downloading a file from IE6, and whenever it was clicked on the "Open Folder" button, ->

-users were given the following command prompt window error regardless of what location was
that file being downloaded:

{'C:\Documents' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

C:\Documents and Settings\myuserID\Desktop>'}

The FIX:
1-Open the registry and Edit the following Value Name on the registry:

2-Browse to [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell]\

3-Select the Value Name (Default)

4-Right Click on it,

5-Select “Modify”

6-Delete any data type in there, and replace it with “none” (without the quotes) at the “Value Data”
field.

7-Close the registry and problem fixed.
-You may need to reboot the system for the registry to be refreshed.


What was the cause?

The shell directory was set to “Open Dos Prompt” command.

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell]\
Value Name: (Default) @="Open Dos Prompt"

Hi everyone,

I do really need help here. I just hope you may have a solution or at least the clue of what may be wrong here or to point me if this is an issue that has been already been posted on the forums.

Here is the scenario:

MS Windows 2003 64 bit Standard.
with Office 2003 and IE6 installed.

Here is the problem:
The problem I'm having is that whenever I download a file from IE, right after it finishes the download if I click on the button "Open Folder", I get the following error message:

Do you know what may be wrong?

-it seems that for some reason, the OS thinks that any folder location is a command.

I'd been looking for days about this but I have not been able to find any fix about it.
