You may not need an installation disk. In ME the cabinet files are usually in windows/options/install and you need a win98 or ME boot floppy to extract the correct file from the right .cab file. I can't tell you off the top what cabinet file explorer.exe is in. I suggest that you run scandisk and scanreg before you extract the file, then reboot the machine. Scanreg may correct the error, if not then extract the file. Scandisk will correct any faulty sectors on the hard drive.

Well you need that boot floppy that I mentioned. You can go to
www.allbootdisks.com using any computer that has a floppy drive and download a boot floppy. |
