After moving from Windows 98 to Windows ME sometimes back, the left panel of my Windows explorer is gray and displays no files whatsoever. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with that?

Welcome to G2G ecarder

Try this :
Close all Windows explorer/IE windows, then
1. Go to Start->Run... then type regsvr32 /i shdocvw.dll <OK>
2. Start->Run... then type regsvr32 /i browseui.dll <OK>

Let me know if that resolves the problem
