Windows Protection Error. You will need to restart your computer. System Halted. After shutting down (from power source), the compter wants to start in SAFE mode. I just installed a new RCA modem and driver. Could this be the issue? How do I trouble shoot this? Thanks! |

Hi Wannabe -
Yes, it will start in safe mode, but will also allow me to start in normal mode. This seems to be an intermittent problem, as the computer started in normal mode this morning, no warning about a protection error. |

The first thing I would do is check for updated drivers for the modem.

Thanks, wannabe1. Will do.
