OS: windows xp

get the following error message when I try to open windows media center:

"Windows Media Center has stopped working'' and I can not open it. I have Windows Vista Home Premium. I tried doing system restore and it doesn't help. I am able to open Windows Media Player though, and can play DVD's and CD's through there, but can not open media center, to access the tv features. Does anyone know how to resolve this?
