I currently have Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP Pro on my system on seperate drives. When my computer boots up it comes to the screen where you can select which operating system to choose (XP or 2000) well for some reason it's as if my keyboard has been disabled because I can't select the 2000 system option. It will only boot up using XP.

I'm not a big fan of XP and I'd like to go back to Windows 2000. I've even tried to boot into safe mode using F8 but it's as if XP has disabled this option as well because I can push F8 all day long and nothing happens. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if more info is needed.

Thanks in advance for your time

if you recently started using a USB keyboard (particularly a wireless one) that could explain it. If it's a USB wired type -- check in the BIOS settings for "enable USB keyboard" so it works before Windows has loaded.

If it's wireless USB you're out of luck. Wireless devices definitely need Windows to be running before they'll work.

my apologies if none of the above applies to you.

Yep, it's a wireless keyboard with a USB connection (Microsoft Wireless MultiMedia Keyboard 1.0A). So are you saying I'm S.O.L.? If so, how do I get around it? If not, how to I go about accessing the BIOS settings?

Surely I don't have to go back to a standard keyboard just to access my Windows 2000 OS?
