I am running an HP Pavilion 734n
XP SP2
2gig of ram

When I try to run the Windows Update file:
WindowsXP-KB922582-x86-ENU.exe
My system restarts.
I shut off the restart function and I get the following Stop Message:

Stop: 0X0000008E (0XC0000005, 0XB84C280E, 0XB7285558, 0X00000000)

I am totally lost on how to fix this.

Here is what MSFT says this file does:
Size: 550 KB

A problem has been identified in Filter Manager that can prevent you from installing updates from Windows update. You can help protect your computer by installing this update from Microsoft. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.

More information for this update can be found at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922582

Thanks in advance.

This update is not needed for 32-bit Windows XP.
If you're not sure whether you have 64-bit Windows or not, chances are you probably don't.
