I have a Hewllet Packard Pavillion PC Intel Dual core processor, 160 gig hard drive, 1 gig ram, Windows Xp Media Center Edition operating system Can I load both AVG and Avast virus scanners and run the independent of each other. ( scan computer using each one seperately).

You can have both on your computer but only one active. I have AVG on active basis and use Avast manually whenever I feel like it.
Make sure to remove one from startup.
