Everything looks pretty good except for the Video card. At a minimum get an 8800GT. 8600GT is not really good for gaming.

Here is a rough estimate
8600GTS<7900GS<x1950pro<HD3850<8800GTS 320mb<8800GTS 640mb=HD2900XT<HD3870<8800GT<8800GTX<8800Ultra
The placing of the 8800GTS and HD2900XT are debatable, it varies under a number of circumstances.

I would say at a minimum HD3850, it's about as good as budget gaming comes right now.

The power supply has to go, what is your budget for power supplies?

Cheapest one in stock:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814130303
Usually $270

A good bang for your buck.

The PSU is the most important component of the computer and is usually the first part to be skimped on. If you do not want the PC to fry or be under powered then I recommend this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817371001
It is reliable, coast efficient, and has a very high energy efficiency (>80%) meaning a lower electric bill.

But mainly you just want a reliable PSU manufacture that will not fry your whole rig.

This guy is 70$ after rebate
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817371002

I'm assuming the 8800GT is blowing your budget if so, this card will beat the 8600GTS that you previously suggested.

Which is why I suggested the HD3850, it blows the 8600GTS out of the water for the same price.

Not even close to as good as the one you had picked in the first place (e6750).

Please list your build as of now (so we know what suggestions you have taken into account) and list their prices.
If you plan on overclocking you could get this so save 20$.

Here's an example, this took me over an hour to make for you, using recommendations so far as well. smile.gif (I could have been playing games laughing.gif)

Cooler Master case $49.99 ($39.99 after rebate)
Antec TP3-550 PSU $99.99 ($69.99 after rebate)
ABIT IP35-E Motherboard $89.99
Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 Processor $174.99
OCZ 2x1GB PC2-6400 RAM $75.99 ($35.99 after rebate)
LiteON SATA DVD Burner $28.99
GECUBE Radeon HD3850 $179.99 (Unsure about this manufacturer, though - but currently in stock, HIS was out of stock)
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 SATAII 250GB HDD (16MB Cache) $69.99
Vista Home Premium 32-bit OEM $111.99

Total comes to $881.91 (After all rebates are back, it comes to $801.91). This leaves $100 or so for the monitor, which is probably not going to get you a fantastic one in a large size, but currently I just finished building a new gaming tower and decided to get better bits inside, I'm going to start saving and upgrade my monitor later. Gaming on my 17" LCD is fine for me smile.gif If you currently have a monitor, I would keep it and save. I wouldn't really recommend cutting down any of those parts any further, especially if you are interested in playing future games no.gif

Comments, anyone? In particular, GECUBE graphics card? chancy4342, how does that look to you?
