I cannot actually remember how I first found this site. But I must say it is now the only site I visit everyday, multiple times.

When I found this site, I thought I had some reasonable computer knowledge. You all helped me with quite a few hardware problems (I've never had any problems with Malware!).

At first I was only visiting G2G occasionally to look on my own threads, but then I started reading other threads, learning about other peoples problems and how they were able to fix them. My computer knowledge started to grow.

I just had over a month of holidays, spending almost all of it reading up mainly on hardware, but some other things on the side. Thanks to all the help and knowledge you geeks have given me (especially the will and commitment to actually go out and look up all this information for myself).

I can now even help other people on problems, or suggest good upgrades and everything. (I spend almost all of my time in the hardware section, so if you havn't seen me, that's where I am). I'm hoping to one day be able to join this wonderful community of geeks (staff sort of thing tongue.gif One day maybe!).

I've pretty much entrusted this community with quite a bit of my money (having ordered >$1000 worth of hardware upon recommendations from teh community).

In particular i'd like to thank the following people:

Troy
Titan8990
James_8970
Stettybet0

These four are the main people who stick in my mind, and i'd like them to know how helpful they've been to me.

I found out about GtG from a fellow poster on a favorite site of mine where we poke fun at the Disturbing Auctions that people list on eBay. I too want to say I appreciate GtG very much. I know you good folks spend a lot of your personal time helping people and I think thats awesome. I've been to many other sites over the years and have found many are geared toward hardcore extreme geeks that forgot how to relate or speak to a newbie in a language they can understand. I'm currently working on repairing my HP Pavilion and the help I received on the volunteer HP Forum website was useless! Oh well. Meanwhile, the first time I came here you folks helped me remove a Trojan that appeared on my wifes PC in no time flat. Sweet! I'm past the point where the 'Dummies' books no longer help and I'm currently reading a comprehensive tome on PC Repair & Maintenance that is thicker than my Bible. Hopefully some day I too will be able to contribute and help people with technical queries. Thank you everybody at Geeks to Go. You're #1 with me!

Thanks Seltox, you've made me smile for the night. And of course, if your new rig blows up, I never said a word... whistling.gif

I find it absolutely fascinating, and I really enjoy doing what I do. I also enjoy the team spirit here, the other three you mentioned (and many others) have taught me a lot. Keep learning and helping, one day you just may be asked to join up for Tech Academy. wink.gif

Cheers
