Hi guys, I'm really frustrated with what's going on here with my xbox and my PC not being able to communicate. I also cant find help anywhere else about this issue, everyones problem seems to be unique or not pertinent to me.

Let me start off in saying I'm tech savvy so I've tried a lot of tinkering on my end and turning firewalls on and off, antiviruses on and off, countless reboots of both the xbox360 and the PC, and I've pretty much exhausted every option I can think of.

My current problem: I cannot get my PC to recognize and set up media sharing on my xbox 360, anymore.
My larger problem: Cannot get .m3u playlists to stream properly into NHL 10 (Xbox 360 game) when sharing is working.

Quick summary of what's happening: Ever since I moved back to college into my dorm I've been having issues, but I've previously had this working (both the streaming and basic media sharing).

When I first tried to connect the two devices at college, nothing worked -- couldn't recognize each other. And then somehow after some rebooting, the computer finally connected to the 360 when manually adding the device in WMC "Add extender" using the 8digit key. All sharing was working, and in the xbox 360 dashboard all my playlists and media showed up. When playing NHL 10, however, I encountered massive lag trying to access this shared media in the customization menus and ultimately no media would show up after what I think was the game "timing out" after 1 min long freezing/lag.

So, thinking maybe it was WMC, I went and uninstalled the windows media extender and disabled all sharing, and some services (SSDP I believe) and got TVersity set up (with some tinkering) and basically had the same problem as I just stated. Sharing would be working, and dashboard would show everything, but not in game.

I uninstalled Tversity to go back to windows media extender sharing and now I can't get it to work.

Steps I've taken:

I made sure to fully uninstall TVersity, and redo anything I changed/disabled during the initial installation (including making sure all network services, like SSDP, were now online). Re-enabled sharing in WMP, and "Enabled" my xbox 360 device in WMC.

After it not working so many times, I decided to start fresh and I deleted/uninstalled the Xbox 360 entry in WMC, and I deleted the Xbox 360 (with a green checkmark) in WMP sharing status. Now I can't even get the two to recognize each other.

I've made sure Windows Firewall (my only firewall running) is configured to accept WM extender connections etc. and I've even tried disabling both that firewall and Kaspersky internet security(firewall already disabled, redundancy) to try it with no internet protection... failed.

Other useful information:

I have my PC and my Xbox 360 hardwired with cat5 cables to a Netgear GS605v2 Network Switch/hub which then connects to the ethernet drop in my dorm room.

Network and Sharing center's network map reflects that this setup is working properly as I see my PC and 360 on the same switch connecting to the university's switches/gateway.

I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit.

I have had this work last year completely fine (streaming and sharing) on my same university network with NHL 09.

---Hopefully this is enough info for anyone to help me figure out whats going wrong here but I can provide more detail if needed.

Thanks so much in advance. I'm at the point where I want to punch my monitor in frustration.
