Xbox 360 + Plus Laptop, How can i setup a wired connection to my laptop?

i have a laptop that is on a wireless connection and it is in my room along with my xbox. my computer, modem, router, is in another room. i want to hook my xbox up directly to my laptop cus ive been having problems...i cant connect to sooooo many people's host, cant connect to them in their chat, cant hear them during games....my NAT is open... idk? it sux... i wud b thankful if som1 cud help me cus it really is terrible that i cant play wit soooo many ppl...

its wireless...everything bout it sux...the h3 map pack took me 5 hours to download...and i cant connect to my friends

What type of wireless router do you have? Also, what type of wireless encryption do you use? And finally, how many people use your wireless network?
