When I try to join certain peoples games it always says there are network connection problems. However this only seems to occur when the person is host. I can join parties with them in it, but if they are the host of the party, I can never join. This also occurs when people try to join my party. I use a regular xbox so idk if it is my connection or console or what. Does anyone know why it does this and how I can fix it? Thanks.

That happens to me to sometimes, I usually just find a friend on both of our friends list and just tell them to make a party so both of us can join, and then he will leave. Otherwise I don't think you can fix it. Sorry for the delayed post, I just saw this. And I know other people saw it but I guess they didn't post.

What type of router are you using? This has occured to me in the past when using a belkin router. I wasn't able to join games with certain friends when I was a host or they were, but another friend would host game and we could both join. Does this sound similar to your situation?

After doing some research, it was a problem with my NAT setting on the router being STRICT. After trying different suggestions from opening certain ports manually to simply resetting the router, I switched back to my old Linksys router and everything was back to normal (NAT setting OPEN).

Do you get any messages about your NAT level when trying to join games your friend hosts or vice/versa?

(Didnt check the date on this, almost a year old. Ah well, info for anyone else reading this having the same issue.)
