I keep getting the message "Hello, either you have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player." when I try to watch videos on YouTube. I definately have the latest version of Flash player as I've checked on the Adobe website. I have Firefox, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer and it doesn't work on any of them. It was working on Internet Explorer a few days ago but has now started showing the same message as it does on Google Chrome and Firefox. I definately have Java installed too. The wierd thing is, I can watch YouTube video's when they're embedded into other websites like Facebook, but I can't watch them directly on YouTube. It's been like this for around a week now. I've tried disabling the firewall to see if YouTube was being blocked by that but it still didn't work.

The Flash player is browser specific so be sure you install the correct one.

They're showing no thumbnails for the videos, where as they were before. Maybe that's helpful?

You say " I've tried all of that, no luck". Does that mean you actually went to the specific browser install pages at Adobe to install the correct flash player required for the browser in use? If no thumbnails are showing for all browsers, then it may be a related problem with any security software install that is blocking them according to a site "black list". Don't know about XP, but my Vista has had a lot of updates lately. Just a guess on that as a problem.

I've tried the help page where I uninstalled flash and installed the pack for firefox and that still hasnt worked. I've updated my Java too so that I have the latest version of both Flash and Java. If I update my shockwave player would that have any affect?

I haven't encountered this issue.
I guess you also have something in your firewall. try to turn if off during installation.

Get ALL the required add-ons/plug-ins for Firefox HERE. There is one for the Shockwave Player and the Flash Player.

I've came to the conclusion that it must be YouTubes error. I have everything I need. My Java is the latest version and so is my Flash player. I've ran tests on them both and they do definately work. I can watch videos on other sites, just not YouTube. I've seen on other forums people having the same problems and they also think it may be YouTubes issue. No idea what I can do from here.

Well, I use Firefox and don't have any problems. I must have JavaScript turned on for YouTube and 1 other site that comes up before I can watch videos. Did you install the Shockwave Player and the Flash for the correct browser. They ARE browser specific.

Might try clearing your browser's cache and all cookies. Refreshing page several times and see if the video window shows. Security settings could be set that may prevent the site from working. Just a guess.
