i have tryed to uninstall avAST and reboot then reinstall it but my computer does not recognize it i'm lost can anyone help

If you are updating from 4.8 to 5.0 this can sometimes happen

Go to safe mode and run the Avast uninstall utility this will clear the hanging service and allow you to re-install
