hi to every one: useing desktop with WINDOWS XP HOME. I've been getting weard problems with my networking last week. all started after I dowloaded a video from the net, after that I started to have pop-ups offering virus removal, the short story of this: after I use the AD-AWARE 2007 virus scan and removal everything looks normal now, but the problem is that I can't connect to the internet. I'm using a grid antenna 24 dbi conected to my netgear "wpn311 pci card", I can catch 20-25 good quality signals 7-8 no security enabled and even when the card still get good sigal it keeps saying "aquiring IP address", same issue when I use my CANTENNA. this not hapen when I use the cantenna it on my laptop so I guess the problem is the computer not the card. I cuold say that I've tried everything but oviusly not. please some sugestions wil be so apressiated.

If the PC has become infected with a virus, applications like Ad-Aware will neither detect or remove it. Ad-Aware can find and remove spyware and other related threats, but it's no good for removing viruses (nor does it claim to be). With this in mind, your PC is almost certainly still infected with one or more viruses.

Action:

1. Download, install, update and perform a thorough scan with the free AVG Antivirus from:
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Antivirus/AVG...e-Edition.shtml

2. Download and run the latest, free 'HijackThis' tool from: http://www.merijn.org/programs.php#hijackthis
Don't do anything else with it at this stage. Post the log here and await reply:

DO NOT post the log-file to any other section of the Geeks To Go forums or it will be ignored!
