i can't get an antivirus program to install

i have tried to install avg 8.0, and avast but half way threw the install it stops and sayd the files are corrupted and to start again. i have no idea why it won't let me

You shouldn't install more than one anti-virus program, it is going to give you problems like this and many more

Make sure you remove one of them, then try re-install the other

no i dont have any antivirus programs installed at all, thats why im kinda freaking out

Probably you might already be infected. Check your system with an online antivirus scanner that it's trustworthy, like Windows Live Safety Scanner, Bitdefender or Panda's one
