so, do you have any anti spyware tools such as Ad-aware and spybot, perhaps your requests are being blocked by some evil spyware.
what kinda virus protection if any do you have?

use Ad-aware and spybot in conjunction with each other
go here for spybot:
http://download.softpedia.com/software/ant...ybotsd14rc2.exe

make sure you get all the updates for both Ad-aware and spybot. this will ensure a perfect scan. what ever those programs find, put a check in the box and delete them,
you need virus protection, go here for FREE AVG:
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/Get+AVG+FREE/lng/us/tpl/v5

install and run, make sure you check for updates, this will also ensure a perfect scan for all evil viruses.

Also, if you havent already , turn everything off in the background.
Start, run...type this in "msconfig"
in the start tab, uncheck everything except AVG....

good luck

yikes this is getting crazy
downloaded ad-aware
and it shows up on my desktop
as an html file
(has explorer symbol on icon)
and is complete text gibberish
when I try to open it
tried twice and same thing happened

why? anyone know?
maybe the evil virus is
preventing downloads at this point?
thanks so much
