can't open new windows or links

OS: XP Pro SP2
Since 2 days ago my computer will not open a link from outlook or a link from a web page that opens up a new window. I also cannot open up a new window when right clicking mouse and selecting open in new window. I have also noticed that I cannot drag and drop the icons on my desktop and shutdown is very slow.

I have run ad-aware, spybot, xoftspy, ccleaner, cwshredder, and reg mechanic and still have not been able to fix the problem. I also went to microsoft support and follwed their instructions [url]http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=281679[url], this did not work either. It is very frutrating as I can't open internet banking and other important sites I need to use.

Any help on how to solve this problem would be most apprectiated

Hi jimiau,

Please download and run IEFix -- if this does not solve your problem then I would suggest that you post a HJT log in the Malware forum, to ensure that your computer is not infected.
