changing ip address for knoppix 4.0

how do i setup my internet (for Knoppix), i couldnt find anywhere to change my ip adress and stuff.

http://www.die.net/doc/linux/man/man8/ifconfig.8.html give that a read...but basically you would open a terminal and type

ifconfig ifconfig eth0 address <ip address>

that's for configuring a static ip

not sure on dhcp....i've seen reference to a command "pump -i" but i have no experience with that....try man pump and see if it gives you a man page
