i installed a new processor and increased to fsb from 100/100 to 133/133
i tried several times to reset the cmos to no avail.
any ideas what to do?

Can you give us some specs about the computer? Make, Processor new/old...

Did you try and connect the old one back?

Is there any beeps fans.....

sorry about the lack of info and for taking so long to respond.
anyways, i had a barton 1800 and upgraded to a 2600
my motherboard is a k7s5a
i have fans and the light on the front comes on when i push the power button but thats it
i did try to reinstall the old processor but the same thing happened.
the only thing i can think of that happened is i accidentally started it with the cmos battery out of it, not sure if that matters or not.
if you need other info then let me know.

had to bump this, still need help

Try and un plug the computer take out the bios batt and wait 10 min. This will totally reset the bios.
Put the batt back and plug in. See if it starts.

If nothing then take out all cards that you have network card, sound.. leave only ram and graphics card in. (Un plug computer while taking out cards.) now try and boot.

If nothing now take out graphic card and try.

If also now nothing take out the ram and see if any beeps.

after i got to the point where i had to remove the video card the hard drive started making sounds like it was starting up but it kept going off and on again.

Disconnect the hard drive and all other drives. You want to hear the Bios beep. This will give you a diagnose of what problem it has. Once it beeps there is a bios beep code.
DO you get any beep?

when i disconnected everything, all drives and cards, it made one beep then did nothing but run the cpu fan and the light on the front

One single beep means that all is well but if you took out the ram sticks then it should not beep like that. When you turn it off (You can hold the power button for 5 sec and it will shut off) and back on is still beeps only a single beep?
Is the graphics card on board or is it a card?

with the ram in it doesnt beep at all.
i've got a gaphics card it's an nvidia geforce 6200
i restared it with and without the ram and i didnt hear a beep of any kind this time......
must of come from my other comp or something maybe.

Did you try to boot with out the ram and graphics card?

Check and make sure that your speaker is connected properly.
Here is a link to the manual of your mother board. Down load the pdf and look at page 21 it has a diagram of where the speaker needs to be connected.

Did you try and connect the first cpu that worked?

i did boot without the ram and graphics card

i did try reconnecting the old cpu

and that wasnt my motherboard, but i found mine on that site and the speaker is connected right

and still no beep

All that I have left to recommend is to reset the bios and try one processor and if nothing try the other one after another reset of the bios. If nothing then your mother board is probably dead...
