got rid of it using adware but, explorer.exe won't launch and cannot be found when i tried to open through task manager. I can only navigate by pressing control, alt, del to access task manager and that's it. Same symptoms occur when i reboot to safe mode. here is my log using SmitFraudFix v2.344 Scan done at 11:00:25.64, Mon 09/01/2008 Run from C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\SmitfraudFix OS: Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600] - Windows_NT The filesystem type is NTFS Fix run in normal mode »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» Process C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\csrss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Ati2evxx.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Ink\KeyboardSurrogate.exe C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin\EvtEng.exe C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin\S24EvMon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\AOL\ACS\AOLAcsd.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\AOL\TopSpeed\2.0\aoltsmon.exe C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin\ZcfgSvc.exe C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\WISPTIS.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\Ati2evxx.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\tabbtnu.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\AOL\TopSpeed\2.0\aoltpspd.exe C:\PROGRA~1\AVG\AVG8\avgwdsvc.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe C:\PROGRA~1\Intel\Wireless\Bin\1XConfig.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\New Boundary\PrismXL\PRISMXL.SYS C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin\RegSrvc.exe C:\Program Files\Spyware Doctor\pctsAuxs.exe C:\Program Files\Spyware Doctor\pctsSvc.exe C:\PROGRA~1\AVG\AVG8\avgrsx.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Ink\TCServer.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Spyware Doctor\pctsTray.exe C:\Program Files\Webroot\Spy Sweeper\SpySweeper.exe C:\Program Files\Zune\ZuneNss.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\alg.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\taskmgr.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe C:\WINDOWS\NOTEPAD.EXE C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Source Engine\OSE.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem\wmiprvse.exe »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» hosts »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» C:\ »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» C:\WINDOWS »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» C:\WINDOWS\system »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» C:\WINDOWS\Web »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» C:\WINDOWS\system32 »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» C:\Documents and Settings\Owner »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» Start Menu »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\FAVORI~1 »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» Desktop »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» C:\Program Files »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» Corrupted keys »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» Desktop Components »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» IEDFix !!!Attention, following keys are not inevitably infected!!!
