You need to print this out or save a copy to Notepad for reading because you can NOT have IE/FF or any browser open while doing the fix. Go to the folder C:\Documents and Settings\Marty\Desktop\HiJack this\ and Right click on your HijackThis.exe and choose Rename...change name to anyname.exe. Open HijackThis and click on Do a system scan only. Place a check mark next to the following: O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WindowsHive] C:\WINDOWS\system32\rpcc.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [RunOnce2Upd] "C:\Documents and Settings\Marty\Desktop\ieupd2.exe" O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Restore Operation] C:\DOCUME~1\Marty\LOCALS~1\Temp\svchots.exe O20 - AppInit_DLLs: O20 - Winlogon Notify: iccnst - iccnst.dll (file missing) Close ALL other open windows and programs and click Fix checked. Please download VundoFix.exe (by Atribune) to your Desktop
Post the c:\vundofix.txt and a fresh (renamed) HijackThis log. NOTE You have more than one AV program on your computer..while one is a MUST HAVE more than one will lead to slow downs, errors and crashes... choose one and uninstall the other |

You have 2 AVG products on your computer...AVG Anti-Malware..which CAN be used in conjunction with other programs and AV..and you also have AVG Anti-Virus....
As far as which one to keep of the Avast and AVG Anti-VIRUS.....They are both excellent programs and either choince you make will be fine......I've used AVG in the past but I have NOT ever had Avast. From what I can gather about the 2 they use about the same amount of system resources so it's kind of a coin flip which to keep. Again with those two as choices you can't really go wrong no matter which you choose. |

Updating Java and Clearing Cache
Downloaded Applications Other Files Note: This deletes ALL the Downloaded Applications and Applets from the CACHE. AS far as FlashGet goes check and fix any/all lines pertaining to Flashget in HijackThis. Then use Window to brose to C:\Program Files\ and delete the Entire Flashget folder. (You may have to delete it from Safemode.) Then post a Final (?) HijackThis log and any comments about how the computer is running. PS Look at the difference in spacing in the two HijackThis logs you have already posted...The 2nd is because of WordWrap setting in Notepad..make sure to turn it off Before posting a log..just makes it easier to read. |

Cookies are just a inevetiable part of broswing the internet. Most cookies are harmless. Use Avg Anti Spyware or Super Anti tyo clean them out on a regular (weekly or so) basis.
A GREAT (and FREE) firewall is COMODO..available HERE Good job your log is clean. You can delete the Vundofix and C:\Vundofix backup folder/files now.. First, let's clean your restore points and set a new one: Reset and Re-enable your System Restore to remove infected files that have been backed up by Windows. The files in System Restore are protected to prevent any programs from changing those files. This is the only way to clean these files: (You will lose all previous restore points which are likely to be infected)
Click Properties. Click the System Restore tab. Check Turn off System Restore. Click Apply, and then click OK. 3. Turn ON System Restore.
Click Properties. Click the System Restore tab. UN-Check Turn off System Restore. Click Apply, and then click OK. To reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing SpywareBlaster and SpyWareGuard and IE/Spyad. SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard are by JavaCool and both are free programs. SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed and consumes no system resources. SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts. IE/Spyad places over 4000 websites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It is free. More info and download is available at links in the following article by TonyKlein Make SURE to read How Did I Get Infected in the First Place?? |
