My operating system is Wins XP pro. Unfortunately, I cannot find my floppy disc drive icon. In the device manager it says there is a code 39 error for the floppy drive. I have checked BIOS and the drive is registered there. However, in MS/Dos the A: format command is not being recognised either in C:\ windows or C:\ commands. The drive did work when XP was first loaded on my computer, but not now. No other hardward has been added since. The only thing I have downloaded is Limewire peer-peer. There is no indication of a virus through Norton, so.... Help! I have run out of ideas to sort this problem out. Any ideas? Many Thanks |

Code 39
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) Recommended resolution Reasons for this error include a driver that is not present; a binary file that is corrupted; a file I/O problem, or a driver that references an entry point in another binary file that could not be loaded. Uninstall the driver, and then click Scan for hardware changes to reinstall or upgrade the driver. On the General Properties tab of the device, click Troubleshoot to start the Troubleshooting Wizard. |
