enable computer browser, help

when i try to enable my computer browser i get a message saying,"the computer browser service on local computer started then stopped. some computer services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the performance logs and alert services." does any one know how to enable it?

with that message...it's probably a service that is only active when it's needed ? are you getting any error messages leading you to believe thatyou need to start it manually?
