My browser keeps flashing when I have it opened. Looks like something running in the background. "explorer.exe not responding" windows pop up when I shut down my computer. After that "connections tray not responding" window pops up.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them:

Exit Explorer, and reboot as normal afterwards.

If you were unable to find any of the files then please follow these additional instructions:

Download Pocket Killbox and unzip it; save it to your Desktop.

Run it, and click the radio button that says Delete a file on reboot. For each of the files you could not delete, paste them one at a time into the full path of file to delete box and click the red circle with a white cross in it.

The program will ask you if you want to reboot; say No each time until the last one has been pasted in whereupon you should answer Yes.

Let the system reboot.

Please reboot and post a fresh HijackThis log and we will take another look to see how we did.

I was able to delete C:\WINDOWS\System32\CNAB3RPK.EXE when I restarted my computer in safe mode, but I couldn't find C:\WINDOWS\system32\svcnvt.exe home. So I download Pocket killbox and paste the 2nd one, but it said the file was remove by other process.

How is it running now?

Same problem. Explorer.exe and Connections tray still up when I shut down my computer. Actually I tried to restart when I posted the Hijack This log. I notice that the Connections tray was not up anymore, only Explorer.exe was. However, I tried to restart again after I saw you post just to be sure, both windows pop up again.

May I ask what time you are usually on the forum? I would like to wait around and do the fix immediately. In another 24 hours I will be leaving the country and I really want my computer to be fixed before that. Thanks for reading my post

Try updating to SP2.

I researched this some and Microsoft indicates it should fix the problem.

Thanks again for reading my post. I have ordered the CD, but it said it will take 4-6 weeks Anyway, I read it somewhere that people said uncheck "telephony" in msconfig could solve the problem. I don't know anything about Windows, so I haven't tried it. Do you think it will work?
