Hi, i'm having a problem with winspyware 2008 and everytime i turn on my computer this pop up shows up and says that i need to puchase this spyware protect. How do I get rid of that. Also when i browse on the internet, when i go from website to website, internet explorer pops up and says that i am in threat of a virus attack and i need to get spyware protect. How do i get rid of that? Please help.

hey guys, i did what you told me to do with the scan and it didn't say anything was wrong with my computer so i did not copy and paste it. The same problem persists...what should i do?? I'm getting constant pop ups.

Your HJT log got cut off. Can you repost and make sure you get the whole log please. I can see one 04 that needs to be fixed...

Run HijackThis. Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on this:

Then close all windows except HijackThis and press Fix checked.

We need to make sure all hidden files are showing so please:

1. Close all programs so that you are at your desktop.
2. Click on the Start button. This is the small round button with the Windows flag in the lower left corner.
3. Click on the Control Panel menu option.
4. When the control panel opens you can either be in Classic View or Control Panel Home view:

If you are in the Classic View do the following:

Double-click on the Folder Options icon.
Click on the View tab.
Go to step 5.

If you are in the Control Panel Home view do the following:

Click on the Appearance and Personalization link .
Click on Show Hidden Files or Folders.
Go to step 5.

5. Under the Hidden files and folders section select the radio button labeled Show hidden files and folders.
6. Remove the checkmark from the checkbox labeled Hide extensions for known file types.
7. Remove the checkmark from the checkbox labeled Hide protected operating system files.
8. Press the Apply button and then the OK button and shutdown My Computer.
9. Now Windows Vista is configured to show all hidden files.

Using Windows Explorer delete the following folder:

C:\ProgramData\Adsl Software Limited

Then reboot and post the full HJT log.

hey i'm trying but i'm not very good with computers so when you say delte this folder using windows explorer, how do i do that? And the link you gave me to do hijackthis is not working. Also when i clicked on hijackthis to scan it said it was already running and it wouldn't bring up the page. But this is that last logfile...i'm pretty sure its complete.

What link is that? The last log you gave is complete. Let's go after the fix. I will give you a tool to remove the folder. I will try and give detailed step by step instructions to get you through this. Just take the instructions one step at a time. Print out if that helps you and check them off as you go, might make it easier.

First, reboot your computer.

Run HijackThis. Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on this:

Then close all windows except HijackThis and press Fix checked.

Please download the OTMoveIt2 by OldTimer.

• Save it to your desktop.
• Please double-click OTMoveIt.exe to run it.
• Copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

• Return to OTMoveIt, right click on the "Paste List of Files/Folders to be moved" window and choose Paste.
• Click the red Moveit! button.
• Copy everything on the Results window to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy), and paste it on your next reply.
• Close OTMoveIt

*If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately, you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine, choose Yes.
**If a reboot was necessary or you needed to Exit before posting the log, you will find a copy of the log at the root of the drive where OTMoveIt is installed, usually at :
C:\_OTMoveIt\MovedFiles\********_******.log
(where "********_******" is the "date_time")

Click "Exit" to close OTMoveIt.


Now reboot and post a new HijackThis log and the OTMoveIt log.

OK looks like folder does not exist. Did you make the fix with HijackThis? If so post the new log...

i rebooted aagain and did the hijackthis scan again and here are the results. What else should i do?? I think you might have fixed my problem though because i'm not getting any pop ups anymore and no more notifications saying i need to be protected or i need to buy this or that.
