I need to remove something called 101links.info Everytime I use a search page (google/yahoo) it hijacks any results I click on. So when i search geekstogo.com in Google instead of going to geekstogo.com it goes to 101links.info and displays ads I've tried ad-aware / spyware blaster / anti-vir and others, but none seem to get rid of it. Im using an Acer laptop (intel) with e-power management. Running both IE and Firfox (it happens on both) with google and yahoo search bars. Any help is appreciated Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1 Scan saved at 9:51:19 @ Morning, on 8/28/2007 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180) Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\csrss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin\EvtEng.exe C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin\S24EvMon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin\RegSrvc.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\SNDSrvc.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\wdfmgr.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\wscntfy.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\alg.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Acer\Empowering Technology\ePower\ePower_DMC.exe C:\Program Files\Google\Google Desktop Search\GoogleDesktop.exe C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\msnmsgr.exe C:\Program Files\Google\Google Desktop Search\GoogleDesktopIndex.exe C:\Program Files\Google\Google Desktop Search\GoogleDesktopDisplay.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem\wmiprvse.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem\unsecapp.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem\wmiprvse.exe C:\Program Files\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic\sched.exe C:\Program Files\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic\avguard.exe C:\Program Files\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic\avgnt.exe C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe C:\Program Files\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Connection Wizard,ShellNext = http://global.acer.com/ R3 - URLSearchHook: Yahoo! Hello,
* Please download FixwareOut from the following site: http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/lonny/Fixwareout.exe Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish. The fix will begin; follow the prompts. If your firewall gives an alert, (because this tool will download an additional file from the internet), please don't let your firewall block it, but allow it instead. Then you will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal. Once the desktop loads please post the text that will open (report.txt) and a new Hijackthis log. |

thanks for your quick help. Fixwareout seemed to have fixed the problem, and it hasnt happened since.
I would like to leave you a small donation for your help (as it saved me a lot of headaches). Nothing big just a couple bucks that are left in my paypal account. Hope others do the same. |
