For some reason the screen to my HP Pavilioin zd8000 laptop now has broken horizontal streaks. The streaks are in the same place but when I page up and down the streaks get worse and cover the whole screen. Does this mean the tubes have gone inside and need repairing/replacing or have I inadvertently changed the screen settings or something to make this happen? I'm hoping it's a simple fix but suspect the screen is on its last legs. Any ideas gratefully received... |

I had the same problem before my video card went to the graveyard. Most likely it's a video card memory problem, and as far as I know, it cannot be fixed.

yeah kind of sounds like the video... unfortunately most laptops have a built in video card so that you have to replace the whole motherboard ( usually $250us + ) but some do have a replaceable video card. you would have to check with the manufacturer to know for certain.... Good luck
