how do i install volume on xp because i just set up win-xp and dont have volume

Did you install the motherboard and/or sound card drivers?

If you're referring to having the volume icon on the taskbar, click Start, Control panel and then Sounds and Audio Devices. Check the box to add icon in taskbar.

it says to add hardware and im using my stero its like puttin the end of a head phone to the computer

- click: advanced
- see if your settings are for your configuration.

- press: enter
- check to see if none have turned down or muted

- press buttons on keyboard: winkey + r button
- paste: devmgmt.msc
- press: enter
- see if there are yellow blobs on sound devices, means missing drivers.
