how do you recopy the programs in the c:\program file into the st, some installed programs are not showing in the start menu program pane

The installed Programs in the c:\program file are not showing up in the program pane start menu. I'm clueless on how to refresh the content in the c:\program folder so they can be seen in the start menu program pane? confused1.gif

This sounds like you may have other problems you need to solve first. Years ago i did a recovery install and ended up in the same situation. My problem was that even tho i installed new program links in the start menu the programs still did not work. I took the easist route of wiping the drive and reinstalling XP back on the computer as a fresh install. Luckily i had already backed up the computer only a few days before.

You can add a folder that has a shortcut to a program to the start menu by going thru windows explorer. This is explained by this microsoft article.

What it does not explain is you must add the folders to the user that you want. Microsoft makes a mistake on the website by using the admin user.

I hope it works for you. Most of the time i find other problems in the computer's that stop the programs from working.
