The current existing Warcraft III Battle.net Gateways are Lordaeron, Azeroth, Northrend, and Kalimdor. You can choose which gateway you wish to connect through from the magnifying glass icon, located next to the Battle.net button in the Main Menu. To help prevent from connecting to a possible scam site, do the following: Step 1: Uninstall all hack type programs: Hack programs can change the server you connect to and then gather your Account Name, Account Password, and even your CD-Key. When you log onto a server you submit your account name and password as well as your CD-key. If the server you connect to is run by a malicious person they could then steal your account on the real Battle.net servers. Step 2: Reset your Battle.net server list: Click on Start, and then Run. Type "regedit" and click Ok. Click on the + icon beside the "HKey_Current_User" branch. Click on the + icon beside the "Software" branch. Click on the + icon beside the "Blizzard Entertainment" branch. Click on the + icon beside the "Warcraft III" branch. Select the "Battle.net Gateways" Value in the right hand panel and press the delete key. Now test your Battle.net options again - they should now only list the official Battle.net regions. If the Gateways or Realms still have non-Battle.net names, then continue to Step 3. Step 3: Uninstall and Reinstall: How to Un-install: 1. Click on Start 2. Highlight Programs 3. Highlight the Warcraft III 4. Click on Un-install Reset the Battle.net server list: Click on Start, and then Run. How to Install: Insert the CD and click install. If the auto play screen does not pop up: 1. Double-click on the My Computer icon 2. Double-click on the CD-Rom drive icon 3. Double-click on the Setup icon 4. The install program will then give you directions on how to install. Step 4: Verify the hack has been fully uninstalled: Contact the maker or distributor of the hack (third party program) that was installed on your computer for assistance on how to remove their program so you can connect to Battle.net again. Third party programs such as hacks and cheats can install viruses and "back door" programs that grant hackers access to your computer. For information on virus scanners - ("http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=msi0462p") check the Warning and Tips - ("http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=msi0504p") page. May we remind you that the use of such programs is in violation of the Battle.net Terms of Use - ("http://www.battle.net/tou.shtml"), as per section 4, subsections A through C. We regret having to employ extreme measures, however, certain unscrupulous players impair the gameplay of the Battle.net community as a whole, and severe action is now both warranted and required. Please read the Hacks, Warnings and Security Information - ("http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=mgi0504p") page for more information. Sincerely, Justin K. I just can't fathom any other possibility. Do you, or any others in tech support know of a possible problem that could occur there?\ Sincerely, Donovan Durand >-----Original Message----- >From: ************************* >To: justink.support@blizzard.com >Sent: 6/24/2005 4:22:21 PM >Subject: Re: Re: Re: Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos - Multiplayer Connection >Issues > >Hello Justin~ > >Hmmm... so there couldn't be any other reason?
