Can you download this customized version of HijackThis:
HJT + extra

and follow the instructions here to post a both.log
metallica site#BOTHLOG

Then open notepad and copy and paste next bold in it:

regedit /e search.txt "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer\Run"
type search.txt>>look.txt
del search.txt
dir %SystemDrive%\*ndw*lib.dll /a h /s >> look.txt
start notepad look.txt

Save this as look.bat
Choose to save as all files and place it on your desktop.
Now doubleclick on look.bat and it will scan.
Notepad will open afterwards with some txt in it, so copy and paste this in your next reply

All this will give me some extra information I need.

Regards,

  • Download the Registry Search Tool.
  • Unzip the contents of RegSrch.zip to a convenient location.
  • Double-click on RegSrch.vbs.
  • If you have an anti-virus installed it might prompt you about a running script. Please ignore this warning and allow the script to run.
  • In the "Enter search string (case insensitive) and click OK..." box paste this string:
    • {884ae450-af0c-4416-88f9-bc4ce7ea9b08}
  • Click "OK" to search the registry for that string.
  • Wait for a few minutes while it completes the search.
  • Click "OK" to open the results in WordPad.
  • Copy and paste the entire results into your next post.
Also post a new HijackThis log.

Alright I went through and fixed all the instructed items in HijackThis. I was unable to locate the 3 files...
C:\WINDOWS\system32\kdlgfcndw30104lib.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\qnyendw30103lib.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\wmplayerndw30104lib.dll
...in either safe mode or regular run mode. I then downloaded the Registry Search Tool, but even after decompressing the files, it will not open, prompting a "Windows Script Host" error window, citing the error as "ActiveX component can't create subject: 'Scripting.FileSystemObject'.

I don't know if you want me to do another HijackThis log yet, but I'll wait for further instructions.

That seems to indicate you are missing some files.

Can you post a new HijackThis log.
We can see if you are clean enough to install SP2

Can you do me a big favor?

Surf to:
http://www.thespykil...x.php?topic=5.0
and follow the instructions there to upload this file:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\2k0y9.dll

Include a link to this topic in your post there:
This one for example: http://www.geekstogo...showtopic=37010

Download: DelDomains.inf
Should the link above display the text instead of downloading the file, then copy & paste the text into notepad and save the file as DellDomains.inf
To use: right-click and select: Install (no need to restart)
Note: This will remove all entries in the "Trusted Zone" and "Ranges" also.

And download and install Microsoft Windows Script 5.6 (Windows 2000, XP) from http://msdn.microsof...list/webdev.asp
I have a feeling we are going to need it.

I did everything you requested, but I'm not sure about one thing. When I click "Install" for DelDomains, it just refreshes all the icons in the folder. Is that what it is supposed to do?

Thanks for your help so far, I'm really not sure how far we are into fixing the problem, but I've noticed a huge decrease in popup activity so far.

Actually all the inf does is clean out your Trusted Zone.

I wanted neededware.com out of there, because they could reinfect you first chance.

It will take a while to analyze the files you uploaded, so I'll get back to you tomorrow.

Can you do a find files for these in the meantime:
mirindaspf.exe
reg32mon.exe
soring1.tmp
mirindaf.tmp
mirindae.tmp

Let me know which ones are found where and upload them to the same thread at TheSpykiller

Excellent. Only some details left to take care off. :tazz:

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {4E7BD74F-2B8D-469E-8AA5-A930F887B531} - (no file)

Then use the delldomains.inf again
And doubleclick the notneededware.reg we made before again and confirm you want to merge it with the registry.

Please have a look at my site for some tips on how to remove and prevent spyware.

Regards,

I would like to thank you very, very much for solving my problems. I spent a good month trying to get rid of the malware, and you helped me to do it in a matter of days. I really don't know what else to say, but I'm unbelievably grateful for your help. Thanks.
